October 18 - Garden Day on Saturday, 10/18.  Meet at 10:00 at the Tenth and Monroe garden.  We will do fall cleanup, and plant the new garden under the urn.  Plants have been chosen according to a study of Victorian garden principles, for a long season of color, year-round color and greenery, food for pollinators, and to thrive in the conditions of dry shade, for low maintenance.  

Extras of the same plants will be available for sale at cost - encouraging neighbors to continue the seasonal color theme in their gardens and tree wells along our streets.  

Fill out a street tree survey.   Describe your tree, or one near you.  Address, species, description - what do you like about it? - care the tree needs, tree well condition and needs.  

October 24 - Block Captain meeting at Deborah's house. 

Block captains meeting:  Saturday, October 24, 4:00 pm. 

To all current block captains and those of you who are thinking about being a block captain, you are invited to my home at 1000 N. Monroe Street for a get-together to get acquainted and talk about how to become effective liaisons between our blocks and TVNA. 

It's about passing on information and concerns, notification of when homes go up for sale, helping neighbors, and socializing, etc.
